Software

Today, there are three accredited second generation software packages available that may be used by assessors to provide a compliance assessment for Class 1 and 2 buildings for their clients.

BERSPro

Developed by Solarlogic Pty Ltd the programme has a graphic interface that makes the entry of data a simple and easy process.

Accurate

AccuRate is the fully featured software package developed by CSIRO for rating the energy efficiency of residential building designs using a numerical data input interface.

FirstRate 5

Developed by Sustainability Victoria, the software has a graphic interface that makes the entry of data a simple and easy process.

Other Packages

Currently, under the Building Code of Australia, software is not permitted to be used for the assessment of the thermal performance of commercial buildings.

Software packages are available to industry for alternative assessments outside of the Building Code of Australia to be performed.

A new software tool is being developed by the federal government for use in the assessment of existing buildings.
