Units
Units are classified as Class 2 buildings in the Building Code of Australia.
In order to be approved by your council or Building Certifier, units must satisfy the energy efficiency requirements of the Building Code of Australia.
The team at SmartRate will assess your plans and specifications and provide a detailed assessment for each individual unit and the average across the unit complex as required by the Building Code of Australia, no matter how small or large your unit project may be..
Units that have common footprints or plans will attract a reduced fee.
Simply contact us or send us the plans and specifications and we will provide you with a fee proposal for your acceptance.
Most projects can be assessed and returned to you within a time frame that suits you or your client.
We are conversant with all of the current requirements for units and the proposed changes for 2010. We can provide you with advice on how to comply with these requirements as well.

How can you reach the minimum star rating for units?
- Allow us to do an Energy Rating on your unit complex
- At the design stage (it's easier then) or on completion of your working drawings
- We recommend how to improve your rating, if required
- ABSA Accredited assessors
